VENTNOR – In preparation for the city’s annual July 3 fireworks display,, the Ventnor City Police Department is sharing important information with the public via its social media page.
The department announced there will be no public access or fishing beyond the second gate of the Ventnor City Pier to allow pyrotechnic professionals to set up their display at the end of the pier.
The bathroom and concession stand will be open to the public during the day. However, there will be times throughout the day during which access to the pier will be restricted to transport fireworks to the set-up area.
The entire pier will be closed to the public starting at 8 p.m. in preparation for the fireworks show.
Although the beach on both sides of the pier will be open during the day,  there will be roped off areas that will restrict access in certain areas starting at 6 p.m.
The police request cooperation to ensure the safety of the public.
On Independence Day, July 4, the city invites the public to view neighboring Margate’s fireworks display from the pier, which will be open to spectators.
