MARGATE The Bay Atlantic Symphony will provide an evening of patriotic musical selections at a free concert 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 3 at the Dominick A. Potena Performing Arts Center, 7804 Amherst Ave.
The tradition that started last year continues this season through a collaboration of the Margate Board of Education, Margate Public Library and Friends of the Symphony.
There's nothing quite like summer in Margate, Mayor Michael Becker said in a statement. To add to our city's coastal landscape, we strive to provide world class art, entertainment and culture for residents of all ages.
Music lovers won't want to miss the chance to bring family and friends to enjoy a rousing version of the "Star-Spangled Banner" featuring the winner of this year's local O Say Can You Sing competition. The evening's musical lineup includes Armed Forces Pride of America, Four Dance Episodes and Buckaroo Holiday from Aaron Copland's Rodeo, John Philip Sousa's Liberty Bell March and Stars and Stripes Forever, and Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.
The concert is free with priority given to Margate residents beginning June 2 and for the general public beginning June 16. Margate residents can obtain up to four tickets and the general public can obtain two tickets. Tickets are general admission. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Tickets are available at the Margate Public Library, 8100 Atlantic Ave. For more information, call 609-822-4700.
