Ventnor is running on Dunkin'

Marylou Reiff and Gail Layton of Ventnor enjoy some afternoon refreshment at the new Ventnor Dunkin'

VENTNOR There was a steady stream of happy customers shuffling into the new Dunkin' that opened its doors at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23.

Gail Layton and Marylou Reiff, both of Ventnor, stopped by for some mid-day refreshment.

After rebranding, the shop, formerly known as Dunkin' Donuts, is now simply known as Dunkin' but still boasts it signature pink and orange logo.

I'm thrilled whatever they call it, Layton said.

There's something for everyone in Ventnor, Reiff said. I can't wait to take a winter walk and stop in for a cup of hot tea, or to pick up Munchkins for my friends' kids.

Layton said that although some feared competition between other businesses in the area, she is pleased to see a new business come to town.

This corner was an empty lot for about 20 years. Now we have a nice addition to the business community and they are paying taxes and serving the public, she said.

Store Manager Kristina Vicencio, who lives in Hammonton, said the place enjoyed brisk business all day. She stopped by each table to greet her customers and welcome them to the store.

Although the store was not giving away free coffee on Tuesday, the first 50 people who show up for the official grand opening on Saturday, Nov. 3 will get free coffee for a year. The store opens at 5 a.m. A ribbon cutting with city officials will be held at 11 a.m. with giveaways, raffles and prizes.

Vicencio said the store is the next gen for Dunkin', complete with a new menu, drink bar, and of course, donuts.
