  • Ventnor

VENTNOR  Gov. Phil Murphy announced recently that the City of Ventnor has been awarded a $222,122 Municipal Aid Grant.

"I appreciate the support that we have received from NJDOT to address the need to pave streets in Ventnor.  We will continue to work to uncover funds to improve the streets of our city," Commissioner of Public Works Lance Landgraf said in a release.

The NJDOT grant will fund the paving of Wellington Avenue from Lafayette Avenue to Swarthmore Avenue.

The competitive Municipal Aid Grant Program received 661 applications from 546 different municipalities for fiscal year 2020 with a total of $368 million in work. Project applications were evaluated and rated on their merits by NJDOT Local Aid staff and an independent panel of New Jersey municipal engineers.  This process resulted in 545 awards to 542 municipalities.

Planners at Rutala Associates of Linwood applied for the grant.
