Wine tasting and art show benefits culinary student scholarships

ATLANTIC CITY The 11th annual At the Shore Wine Tasting and Art Show is on tap 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6 at the Noyes Museum at The Claridge Hotel at Brighton Park, 123 S. Indiana Ave.

Proceeds of the event benefit scholarships for students in hospitality programs at Stockton University, Atlantic Cape Community College and Fairleigh Dickenson University. The scholarship program is administered by the Greater Atlantic City Concierge Association and the CRDA Foundation, the event's producers. To date, the program has awarded 93 scholarships and merit awards totaling $73,400.

The event includes a chance to meet the artists along with complimentary wine tastings from Bellview Winery and Gallo Family Wines, craft beers from Tuckahoe Brewing Company and spirits from Little Water Distillery. Along with a cash bar, wine and beer will be sold by the bottle for take-out. The Claridge will provide a selection of hors d'oeuvres and Spectra Food Services will offer complimentary desserts.

A silent auction offers items donated by local businesses, ranging from special event tickets to hotel stays, restaurant gift certificates and passes to the Beer & Music Festival, among other items. The Stockton Faculty Band will entertain.

Scholarships will be awarded during the annual Host Awards banquet on May 8.

A limit of 300 tickets will be sold. Advance tickets are $25 each. Any tickets not sold in advance will be available at the door for $30.
