LONGPORT - A police officer is recovering from minor injuries following a hit and run accident  that occurred shortly before 9 p.m. Friday, March 8.

It as 8:51p.m. when Michael K. Muller, 28, of  Somers Point, was traveling west on Longport Boulevard and sideswiped the officer's patrol vehicle. Slattery had just re-entered her marked vehicle after conducting an unrelated motor vehicle stop on the Longport Boulevard near Hospitality Drive.

After the impact, Muller left the scene of the crash. Another Longport police officer, Sgt. Jamie Silva witnessed the crash and was able to locate Muller a short time later.

Muller was arrested by members of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department and charged with driving while intoxicated.
