ATLANTIC CITY The 36th annual Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala raised $232,050 for scholarships for students attending the college's Academy of Culinary Arts.

The sold-out culinary gala attracted 850 supporters gathered at Harrah's Resort Atlantic City Conference Center to taste signature dishes from 40 of the area's finest restaurants, spirit and wine tastings from area distilleries and breweries, and a dessert extravaganza prepared by academy students under the supervision of Chef Educators Daniel Matt and Annmarie Chelius. Led by Dean Kelly McClay, students also prepared the hors d'oeuvres for the cocktail reception. Don't Call Me Francis band rocked the ballroom and got people up on their feet.

Resorts Casino Hotel President and CEO Mark Giannantonio was honored along with restaurant owners Kelsey and Kim Jackson, a 2004 graduate of the Academy of Culinary Arts.

The theme for the gala was Recipe for Success, which was evident in one essential ingredient the amount of money raised to allow students to thrive in the culinary industry.

The Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation has raised more than $3.5 million for culinary scholarships since the gala's inception.
