MARGATE Downbeach.com today announced the winner of its first-ever reader contest.

Ventnor City firefighter, Lt. Joe Iannuzzelli was the winner of a Weber Spirit II E-210 gas grill donated by Colmar True Value Home Center to kick off the summer season and the hardware store's annual Weber grill event being held May 18.

Iannuzzelli picked up his prize at the store Thursday morning after watching the Ventnor City Firehouse No. 2 on Wellington Avenue, where he spent many shifts protecting the people of Ventnor, be demolished to make way for a new firehouse.

Lt. Joe Iannuzzelli of the Ventnor City Fire Department won Downbeach.com's first-ever reader contest.

I'm elated to win, Iannuzzelli said. I can't wait to use it.

When asked where he would use the grill, Iannuzzelli said he would bring it to his Ventnor home and share it with other firefighters when they conduct events at the firehouse.

Downbeach.com publisher and Mediawize, LLC founder Kenneth C. Wisnefski of Ocean City said the contest was a great way to kick-off summer in the Downbeach area, increase readership and promote a local business.

According to Colmar Home Center owner Michael Collins, the Weber two-burner gas grill, valued at $349, is perfect for small yards and transporting to the beach, or the firehouse, on grilling days.

The Weber Spirit II E-210 gas grill is packed with features, such as the powerful GS4 grilling system, iGrill capability, and convenient side tables for placing serving trays.

Collins welcomed shoppers to come to the store 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 18 for the store's annual Weber grill event, which includes free grilled food, Weber chef cooking demonstrations and great deals on Weber grills. Purchases include free assembly and delivery, along with a free propane tank or grill cover.

The reader contest was open to anyone over the age of 18 and online entries were accepted on the Mediawize sweepstakes page during the month of April.

Iannuzzelli's name was randomly selected from 5,039 entries received by the online news source. Participants were asked to like the Downbeach.com Facebook page and sign up for the company's 6 a.m. daily e-mail newsletter highlighting the day's stories and upcoming events.

I am looking forward to running more promotions like this, Wisnefski said. Downbeach.com is not only providing great news and information, but also fun and engaging contests.
