Ventnor
The North Beach Residents Association will hold a Holiday Luncheon 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at Aroma restaurant, 5206 Atlantic Ave. Cost is $20. Reservations are required. Email [email protected] to confirm your attendance.
Ventnor Beautification Committee will host its annual Twilight Holiday Parade 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 on Ventnor Avenue. Raindate is Dec. 8. The parade will honor veterans. The parade route travels from Derby Avenue to Troy Avenue where a block party will be held with activities for children. The parade features marching bands, a Mummers string band, vendors, a bagpiper, food trucks, and Elvis, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there. For more, call Shelley D'Orazio at 267-980-7632.
Create your own Holiday Wreath 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9 at the Red Room, 141 N. Dorset Ave. Have a nibble, listen to Christmas tunes, and make your own fresh wreath with instruction from experts at the Rain Florist. Space is limited. Cost is $45 per person. BYOB. The Ventnor City Fire Department will escort Santa around town on a fire truck 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13. Step outside to welcome Santa to your neighborhood.
Ventnor will hold its annual Menorah Lighting 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22 at Chabad Ventnor Shul, 6605 Atlantic Ave. Everyone is invited to join Rabbi Avrohom Rapoport for blessings and songs. For information, call 609-822-8500.
Margate
Margate Community Church, 8900 Ventnor Ave. will hold a Pancake Breakfast honoring the city's first responders 8:390 a.m. 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 24. For information call the church at 609-822-7147.
Margate Business Association Show Us Your Rack Parade, noon-4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 30. Shop owners will decorate a clothing or restaurant rack and wheel it up Ventnor Avenue to Bocca Coal Fired Bistro, where children's activities and a visit from a signing Santa will be held. Parade route starts at Washington Avenue and ends at Essex Avenue. For more, see margatehasmore.com.
The Margate, Ventnor and Longport PBAs and FMBAs will hold their fifth annual Fill the Police Cruiser toy collection and holiday celebration, 6-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 at the Sigmund Rimm Recreational Complex, Jerome and Amherst avenues. Bring a new unwrapped toy for the Atlantic County Toys for Kids program. Toys will be distributed to children who need them. Children can take pictures with Santa, enjoy holiday music, train rides, lighting display, Christmas tree lighting, Menorah raising, crafts, face painting, special guests and holiday music.
Margate Community Church, 8900 Ventnor Ave. will hold a Live Nativity 4-6 p.m. Friday, Dec 20, in front of the church. Actors will portray the Holy Family along with live animals, including a llama, sheep, goat and donkey. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served. For information call the church at 609-822-7147.
Longport
Longport Police is hosting its second annual Cops for Coats drive through Friday, Nov. 22. New or lightly used youth- and adult-sized winter coats will be collected and distributed to the Atlantic City Rescue Mission. Coats can be dropped off at the Longport Police Department lobby at the rear of Longport Borough Hall, 2305 Atlantic Ave. For more information, contact Ptl. The Longport Police Department invites the community to contribute new, unwrapped toys for the 2019 U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. Drop off toys in the lobby of the Police Department at the rear of Longport Borough Hall, 2305 Atlantic Ave. now through Tuesday, Dec. 18.
Students from the William H. Ross Elementary School will visit the Longport Library to present their Holiday Sho, 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20.
