The Potato Homestead will be offering seasonal root vegetables at the Margate Community Farmers Market Thanksgiving edition being held Nov. 24 indoors at Steve & Cookies By The Bay.
MARGATE We will, we will squash you!
That's the mantra being sung this week as local home cooks get ready for the biggest cooking day of the year. Yes, with still vivid memories of climbing the sand dune to make it to the water's edge where the sun doesn't seem as hot, it's already the start of the holiday season. Thanksgiving is a week away, and it's time to stock the larder with yummy goodness to be shared with family and friends on Nov. 28.
Steve & Cookies By The Bay will hold its Thanksgiving version of the Margate Community Farmers Market 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24 indoors in the Veranda Room. The Oyster Bar will be also open and serving its traditional bloody Mary special, but it's the market vendors who will be stars for the day.
Most of the food vendors who purvey at the summertime market will be back with fall offerings, including Red Room, Pure Batch, Busy Bees Honey, Donny's Dust, Jim's Jams, Formica Bros., No. 7311 and Harry & Beans.
Marolda Farms of Vineland will have fresh winter greens and The Potato Homestead farm of Sewell will be offering seasonal root vegetables.
Offerings from other vendors include mushrooms and mushroom powder, shellfish and seafood, goat cheeses and meats, homemade soups and pastas, and Enlightened Farm will be offering teas grown on its Galloway Township farm.
