Canines of all shapes and sizes strut their stuff at 22nd annual Dog Show

  • Margate

Bruno is 275 pounds of fun.

MARGATE - The two-day Fall Funfest sponsored by the Margate Business Association continued along the bayfront Sunday with Steve & Cookies 22nd annual Dog Show attracting pet lovers from all along the Downbeach area.

Residents and visitors paraded their pooches along Amherst Avenue before the show, which was held at 1 p.m. in the restaurant's parking lot.

Pups competed in six different categories with entry fees donated to the Humane Society of Ocean City. Donations were also collected for New Jersey Aid for Animals, a volunteer organization that provides resources and support for rescued animals, especially those who are abused or abandoned.

Categories included prettiest/most handsome and best dressed for both large and small dogs, most obedient, and most mysterious pet heritage.

Dogs who took the stage were eager to please their pet parents who provided them with a little treat for a job well done. There were many rescue dogs in the pack and some very rare breeds on parade before a panel of judges.

Margate residents Dan Gottlieb and Sebastian Sacchetti emceed the event.

First, second and third place winners received ribbons and Steve & Cookies gift cards.
