Entries being accepted for 'Abby and the Arts,' a stay-at-home art contest

ATLANTIC CITY - The Absecon Lighthouse is sponsoring a stay at home art contest, Abby and the Arts, to inspire a lasting love of the arts in Atlantic City.

Absecon Lighthouse will be awarding cash prizes for first, second and third place to Atlantic City students who submit original artwork using the Absecon Lighthouse (Abby) as inspiration in the following categories:

• Drawing/painting


• Photography


• Poetry

All submissions will be on display at the lighthouse, and the winners will be selected by a panel of local artists and arts administrators. Winners will be announced at a re-opening celebration to be held at a date yet to be determined.

The contest is open to Atlantic City students, grades 1-12. One submission per
student is allowed. The deadline to submit artwork is 3 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2020.
