Thirty residents were confirmed positive for COVID-19 earlier today, Friday, April 24, according to the Atlantic County Division of Public Health, bringing the countywide number of cases to 581. There have been 29 deaths attributed to COVID-19 to date.

Today's confirmations include 14 men, ages 26-83, and 16 women, ages 1-85.

Seven of those residents are from Egg Harbor Township and six each are from Hamilton Township and Hammonton. Somers Point has three additional positive cases, while Pleasantville has two. Absecon, Atlantic City, Buena Borough, Estell Manor, Linwood and Weymouth Township each have one new case.

Atlantic County will provide drive-thru COVID-19 testing next week  by appointment only on Tuesday, April 28 and Thursday, April 30 for symptomatic county residents with a doctor's prescription. The testing will be conducted 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. behind the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing.

Residents may make an appointment online at www.aclink.org. In addition to the doctor's prescription, residents must also provide proof of residency, such as a driver's license or utility bill, as well as the appointment confirmation.

Those who are unable to keep their appointments are asked to cancel so that others will have an opportunity to be tested.
