Atlantic County Health Department Sunday, Dec. 20 announced three new deaths from COVID-19 and 342 new positives, the highest one day count since the pandemic began.
The three additional deaths reported today include two women - a 67-year-old from Hammonton and a 94-year-old from Atlantic City - as well as one man, a 71-year-old from Pleasantville who was a resident of a long-term care facility.
Positive cases were reported in 188 males, ages 1 month to 98, and 154 females, ages 3 months to 103.
To date, there have been 12,894 COVID-19 positives, 322 deaths and 5,827 reported as recovered. The number of recovered individuals indicates those who have been confirmed to be clear of symptoms after designated isolation period. Approximately 25% of those who tested positive fail to respond to initial contact or follow-up letter and 3% choose not to participate upon contact, therefore their recovery status cannot be confirmed.
