Atlantic County Health Department reported six new COVID-19 deaths on Christmas Day, including an 83-year-old Ventnor woman, the third COVID-19 fatality in the city this week. Two other residents died on separate days leading up to Christmas, bringing the total number of deaths in Ventnor since the pandemic began to seven.
The five other people who succumbed to the disease included two Egg Harbor Township residents, an 81-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman; two Atlantic City residents, a 73-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman; a 74-year-old Northfield man. All but one were identified as having had underlying health conditions.
On Dec. 25, the county also reported 192 new COVID-19 positives in 95 males, ages 1-94, and 97 females, ages 1-91.
The county continues to provide COVID-19 testing by appointment 9-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays at the Atlantic County Public Works yard, 617 Dolphin Ave., in Northfield. If available, appointments can be made online at https://www.atlantic-county.org/covid
