GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP - A panel of authors, poets and publishers will share their diverse experiences at the Publishing in the 21st Century visiting writers lecture 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27 at the Stockton University Campus Center Board of Trustees Room.
Panelists are:
- Maribel Garcia, who holds Ph.D. and masters degrees in anthropology from University of Texas Austin. The inspiration for her novel, Profound and Perfect Things comes from her own experiences as both a native of the South Texas Latino community and from her anthropological fieldwork studying Mexican American women living on the US/Mexico border.
Tom Kinsella
Tom Kinsella, director of Stockton's Alliance Heritage Center, teaches literature at Stockton and serves as director of the South Jersey Culture and History Center. Jude Navas, a Stockton alumnus, is the author of What's The Fuss? a children's book that focuses on inclusion, acceptance and love. Stephanie Cawley is the author of My Heart But Not My Heart, winner of the Slope Book Prize, and Animal Mineral, forthcoming from YesYes Books. Malav Kanuga is an assistant professor of anthropology at Stockton and founding publisher and editor of Common Notions, an independent publishing house that explores the cultural and material histories, and collective imaginaries of social and political movements.The program is free and open to the public.
