Daily Update: Atlantic County confirms 21 new COVID-19 cases and 3 deaths

Atlantic County health officials today confirmed the deaths of three women from complications of COVID-19. They include a 59-year-old Absecon resident, a 50-year-old Atlantic City resident, and a 72-year-old Galloway Township resident, all of whom had underlying health conditions.

Officials also reported 21 more positive tests among eight males, ages 6-76, and 13 females, ages 17-81. Five of these residents live in Atlantic City, four in Pleasantville, and two each in Egg Harbor, Galloway and Hamilton townships. Brigantine, Folsom, Hammonton, Margate, Ventnor and Weymouth Township each have one additional resident confirmed positive.

With today's confirmations there are now 2,369 residents who have tested positive with 1,083 of them having being cleared as recovered. COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 168 county residents.

Atlantic County will continue its COVID-19 testing on Tuesday, June 9 by appointment for symptomatic county residents with a doctor's prescription.

Testing is conducted between 9 a.m. and noon behind the Public Works yard in Northfield at Rt. 9 (New Road) and Dolphin Avenue.
