Daily Update: 1 additional death, 24 new COVID-19 positives in Atlantic County

A 69-year-old Ventnor man with pre-existing health conditions is the latest fatality due to COVID-19 complications, according to the Atlantic County Division of Public Health.

County officials also confirmed 24 additional residents who have tested positive, including 13 males, ages 7-76, and 11 females, ages 18-94.

Five of those confirmed today are from Pleasantville, four each are from Atlantic City and Egg Harbor Township, and three are from Galloway Township. Brigantine, Hamilton Township, Hammonton and Mullica Township each had two additional positive confirmations.

Today's cases bring the countywide totals to 2,522 positives with 1,209 cleared as recovered and 174 deaths.

Atlantic County will continue its COVID-19 testing by appointment for symptomatic county residents with a doctor's prescription 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 16 in Northfield behind the county's public works yard at Route 9 (New Road) and Dolphin Avenue.
