VENTNOR Tuesday, May 12 is election day in Ventnor City. The incumbent Imagine Ventnor Team of Beth Holtzman, Lance Landgraf and Tim Kriebel are running unopposed for a second 4-year term on the Board of Commissioners.

NJ Gov. Phil Murphy issued Executive Order 105 on March 19, which ordered Ventnor's May municipal election be held by Vote-by-Mail ballots only. It also ordered Atlantic City's special election to be held on May 12.

Ventnor registered voters received the following items in their Vote-by-Mail package:

  • Ballot

  • Certificate envelope

  • Prepaid postage return envelope

  • Vote-by-Mail ballot completion instructions

  • Letter explaining why you are receiving this ballot

Ballots must be returned to the Board of Elections in the postage-paid envelope provided and postmarked by May 12. The deadline to receive ballots from the Post Office at the Board of Elections is 48 hours after the election.

Ballots can be hand-delivered to the Board of Elections at 5901 Main St. in Mays Landing by the end of the election at 8 p.m. However, access to the old county courthouse is limited for the protection of the public and county employees.

The board will start counting ballots on election day, with final results likely by Friday, May 15.
