File/Shoppers will be welcomed at the Ventnor City Farmers Market opening Friday, May 22.
The Ventnor City Farmers' Market will be open 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday, May 22 in the parking lot at St. James Church, Atlantic and Newport avenues.
"We've been working with the City of Ventnor, OEM, police and fire officials and the Atlantic County Health Department to create the safest outdoor food shopping experience possible," organizers Andy and Penni Starer and Maria Gatta said in a release.
Vendors will be spaced away from each another and will provide extra measures to keep their staff and customers at a safe distance. Only vendors will touch the products and hand to you at the point of sale. Please bring your face masks and your own reusable bags, or purchase a market bag at the Ventnor City Farmers Market booth for $2.
Follow the line to great produce and specialty food products.
Volunteers will monitor one entrance and one exit, permitting a limited number of shoppers at a time. They'll also keep hand-washing stations replenished/sanitized and remind you to walk in one direction while maintaining 6-foot distancing. Vendor lines will allow for two-three customers at a time, depending on their location.
This season's market is like an outdoor grocery store with abundant fresh, local produce, baked goods and artisanal foods.
