County to reopen Lake Lenape Park West in time for Memorial Day weekend

  • Atlantic County

MAYS LANDING - Atlantic County's Lake Lenape Park West in Mays Landing will reopen to the public as of Friday, May 22. While all other county parks reopened on May 2 in conjunction with Gov. Phil Murphy's Executive Order 133, additional time and preparations were needed to ensure social distancing requirements for staff and visitors could be maintained at Lake Lenape Park West.

Visitors to the park will have access to the boat ramp, lake surface and hiking trails, however, camping, pavilion rentals and playground access will be prohibited until further notice.

New boating applications are available online at www.aclink.org/parks/boating.asp and can be printed from the website, completed and faxed to the parks office at 609-909-5825 to help expedite the process and limit face-to-face contact. Payment can be made upon arrival, credit card preferred. Walk-ins who do not pre-fill and fax applications will also be accepted. The office is open 7:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. daily.

Restrooms at all county parks are now open to the public. While visitors are not required to  wear face coverings, they are strongly recommended. Social distancing must be maintained and large gatherings are prohibited. Fishing is permitted at designated locations. Parking at each facility is limited to 50% capacity and will be monitored and patrolled by county park rangers. All county parks are open daily, 7:30 a.m. to one-half hour after sunset.
