Mays Landing man charged with strong arm robbery of Ventnor liquor store

VENTNOR A Mays Landing man has been arrested for allegedly robbing the North Beach Liquor Store located at 5113 Ventnor Ave., leaving a store clerk with minor injuries.

According to a release from Capt. Joe Fussner of the Ventnor City Police Department, Siewon Nimley, 39, of Mays Landing was charged with robbery, simple assault, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and drug paraphernalia and lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

It was 5:09 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, when the Ventnor City Police Department received a 911 call from an off-duty Atlantic City Police Officer reporting the robbery at North Beach Liquors. The officer provided a detailed description of the suspect and indicated his direction of flight from the scene.

Ventnor Police Officers Jose Liriano and Michael Arena responded and were able to quickly locate the suspect.

The investigation revealed that during the robbery, Nimley allegedly assaulted the store clerk and stole cash from the register before fleeing the store. No weapon was used, but during the assault, both Nimley and the store clerk sustained minor injuries.
