D-2 Legislative candidate Amy Kennedy
BRIGANTINE - Democrat Congressional candidate Amy Kennedy, who is challenging Republican incumbent Jeff Van Drew in the 2nd Legislative District race, announced today that she is cancelling public events due to COVIDS-19 exposure.
Kennedy made the following announcement on her Facebook page:
"Last night I was notified that I came into contact with someone over the weekend who tested positive for #COVID19."
Kennedy said she was tested earlier today and tested negative. She has no symptoms, she said.
"Out of an abundance of caution, I am following state quarantine protocols, and cancelling all public events."
Kennedy said she would get tested again in a few days, but in the meantime, she will be following all the recommended safety guidelines.
She will continue campaigning virtually, she said.
