COVID-19 cases on the rise approaching the holidays

Atlantic County Health Department reported 217 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend among 101 males, ages 2-86, and 116 females, ages 10-84. The county also reported one death on Saturday, Nov. 7 in a 53-year-old Pleasantville man with pre-existing conditions.

The county reported 130 cases on Saturday, and 87 cases on Sunday, Nov. 7 bringing the total number of cases since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic to 6,740, with 261 deaths and 3,540 reported as recovered.

In the Downbeach area, since the start of the pandemic there have been 174 cases and three deaths in Ventnor, 101 cases and two deaths in Margate, and 14 cases and no deaths in Longport.

Atlantic County continues to provide COVID-19 testing by appointment for county residents at 617 Dolphin Ave., Northfield, behind the county's public works yard.
