Daily Update: Atlantic County reports 0, 11, 16 COVID-19 statistics

Sixteen more Atlantic County residents have been cleared as recovered from COVID-19 as reported today by Atlantic County public health officials, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,738.

Health officials also confirmed no additional deaths, however, there are 11 more residents who have tested positive. They include six males, ages 16-53, and five females, ages 7-57.

Three of the residents are from Egg Harbor Township, two each are from Hamilton Township and Hammonton, and one each are from Absecon, Atlantic City, Pleasantville and Somers Point.

To date, 4,014 residents have tested positive for COVID-19, of whom 246 have died.

Atlantic County will continue to provide COVID-19 testing by appointment at its drive-thru facility in Northfield at Rt. 9 and Dolphin Avenue, behind the county public works yard.

More than 3,000 residents have been tested at the county facility since April 9 with 17.8% having tested positive.

Testing is scheduled for 9-11:30 a.m. each Tuesday through Sept. 29. The only exception will be next week when testing will occur on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

The test site is available for both symptomatic and asymptomatic county residents with or without a doctor's prescription. Residents must provide proof of county residency and appointment confirmation.

If available, appointments can be made online at www.aclink.org. Those who are unable to keep their appointments are asked to cancel no less than 24 hours in advance so others may have an opportunity to fill those spots.

Health officials urge residents to continue to remain vigilant to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. This includes wearing face coverings, maintaining social distancing and avoiding crowds, washing hands frequently and sanitizing common-touch areas, and answering the call if contacted by contact tracers.
