More than 100 people attended a meeting Saturday, July 13, 2018 to learn more about a proposal to build a boardwalk in Margate.
MARGATE - The members of the Margate Boardwalk Committee are inviting Margate voters to attend an online briefing about the Nov. 3 boardwalk referendum. The meeting is being held 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13 via to Zoom online meeting platform.
According to a release, the committee will share the benefits of building a boardwalk, which they say will be a positive asset for the city.
The Nov. 3 election ballot will include a referendum question asking voters to say yes or no to expending funds for the city to further explore the feasibility of building a boardwalk along the bulkhead side of the dune.
As advocates for a Margate boardwalk, the committee's Campaign Team will be hosting the 30-minute briefing, which will include a 7-minute presentation on what is being proposed and why they believe the boardwalk is necessary and beneficial. A question and answer period is included.
