MARGATE - Finance Commissioner Maury Blumberg Thursday, Sept. 3 swore in the city's new tax collector.
Tara Mazza, a 15 year employee of the municipality, took the oath of office as retiring Tax Collector Linda Morgan watched from the audience.
Blumberg said the tax collector position is one of the most important jobs in the city.

Mazza has successfully completed the required course of study, passed a state examination and has been certified to hold the position.
Her term of office expires Dec. 31, 2024. She will earn a base pay of $95,000 through 2021, with an increase to $98,000 for 2022.
In other business, the Board of Commissioners accepted the retirement of Mary Becker, who serves as deputy tax assessor, effective Jan. 1, 2021.
