VENTNOR - Holy Trinity Parish of the Downbeach area held its annual Live Nativity Friday, Dec. 10 on the grounds outside St. James Church on Atlantic Avenue in Ventnor.
The event included live farm animals, including goats, sheep and two shepherd tending their camel. Children of the parish's choir sang Christmas hymns between readings of the Bible story about the birth of Christ. Older children played the roles of Mary and Joseph, the three kings, angels and shepherds.

Before the event got started, Santa Claus rode by atop a Ventnor City firetruck. He returned at the end of the display to greet the baby in the manger and the children gathered around the child.
The community surrounding the creche were invited inside the church hall for refreshments after the pageant.
