VENTNOR - Little Rock Films and Studios' newest production, 48 Blocks: the series, recently took first place in the Crime Drama category of the New York Women in Film & TV Festival and is now up for the Audience Award.
According to actor/producer Dina Engel and cinematographer Sherry McCracken of Ventnor, their new TV pilot is available for viewing and is eligible to receive the Audience Award if it gets enough likes on the iWomenTV streaming channel that supports women filmmakers.
We need everyone's help to win, Engel said. This award would mean a lot to us as it will help us to market and sell the series."

Viewers can give the pilot a thumbs up, which counts as a vote toward the Audience Award. To date, the episode has had 386 views, with 297 likes and no thumbs down.
The series is set against the glamour and grit of current day Atlantic City and was filmed entirely in the Atlantic City area. The story follows the lead character, Vernon King Carter, a former NBA star under pressure from enemies who are determined to see him fall from grace. It's a story about crime and personal discovery that casts an eye on doing the right thing.
The series shines a spotlight on Atlantic City and its diversity, which makes it a central character of the show.
Engel and McCracken were in development for two years before they went into production on the pilot episode in September 2019. McCracken is the show's creator and Engel stars as a journalist seeking to uncover King's secret.
Six more episodes are planned for Season 1.
