Rain holds off for Ventnor Cultural Arts' Ocean Breeze Arts & Crafts show

  • Downbeach

VENTNOR - It was not much of a beach day on Saturday, but the threatening rain held off long enough to allow the Ventnor Cultural Arts Center to hold its annual Ocean Breeze Arts & Crafts Show and Sale.

The event was not held last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, but today masks were nowhere to be found on the sidewalks around the building - only smiles from those browsing the handmade crafts and fine art.

Hundreds of people filed past tables selling everything from hand-crafted jewelry and clothing, hand-painted seashells, calligraphy, mosaics, woodwork, photography, pottery and fine art paintings and prints. Many of the artists are local residents and some of them teach their medium at the arts center.

The art show was held on the sidewalks and inside the Cultural Arts Center. Local artist and musician Steve Kuzma provided the entertainment on the veranda, while visitors browsed the exhibits in the Ventnor Historical Museum.
