  • Downbeach

Last year, the Margate Education Foundation held its Get Ready to Rock winter social. Other past themes included Prohibition, masquerade, Havana Nights, Do Over Prom. This year's theme is Fire and Ice.

The Margate Education Foundation will host its sixth annual Winter Social Friday, April 23 at Linwood Country Club. As the main fundraising event for the Margate Education Foundation, the money raised from this evening will support a wide variety of student based programs.

This year's social theme will transport guests to a world of Fire and Ice. Dressing for the occasion is part of the fun. Guests can also try their hand at a casino game or lend their voice to a karaoke tune or two. The social will culminate with a silent auction featuring a large selection of prizes donated by business sponsors and teachers at the William H. Ross and Eugene A. Tighe schools. Light fare and complimentary adult refreshments will be available. Tickets are $50 per person and include $100 in casino chips.

The MEF supports Margate's Blue Ribbon school district and works to enhance students' educational experiences. The education foundation funds after school clubs, anti-bullying assemblies, STEM programs, field trips and creative classroom educational programs that are beyond the funding allocated in the school district budget.
