LONGPORT The Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting 6 p.m. Monday, March 29 to obtain feedback from residents about Margate's plan to change the direction of traffic on Amherst Avenue toward Longport.

The City of Margate is in the process of building a promenade along its bayfront Marina District. The roadway will be paved and restriped to include a bicycle lane. The city intends to change the roadway configuration from a two-way traffic flow to one-way traveling toward the Longport border, from Washington Avenue to Coolidge Avenue.

In a letter to residents, Administrator A. Scott Porter said although the borough cannot change Margate's plan, the mayor and commissioners would like to hear from residents about a perceived increase of traffic flowing into Longport.

The meeting will be held at Borough Hall. For those who cannot attend in person, feedback can provide feedback remotely. Access to the meeting is provided by calling +1(571) 317-3122 and using the access code, 730-022-557.

Residents can also provide comments by calling 609-823-2731, ext. 100 and leaving a message with name, address and concern, or via email to [email protected].
