VENTNOR Police here arrested a Ventnor man Thursday and charged him with numerous weapons offenses following an alleged incident that occurred in Pleasantville, according to a release from Capt. Joe Fussner.
The Pleasantville Police Department notified Ventnor Police 12:10 a.m. Thursday, May 20 that a male, identified as Nazeer M. Sapp, 27, of Ventnor, brandished a handgun and threatened to kill a female victim on Falcon Drive in Pleasantville, Fussner said. According to the Pleasantville Police Department, the male fled the scene in a silver Ford Escape and was possibly headed to an address on the 100-block of N. Harvard Avenue in Ventnor City.
Ventnor Police Officers Lt. David Gaeckle and Ptl. Ryan Szaniszlo responded to the Harvard Avenue location at 12:24 a.m. and found the Ford Escape and Sapp standing in front of a residence.
Sapp was found to be in possession of a loaded Glock 27 handgun along with two fully loaded magazines.
He was taken into custody and charged with possession of weapon for unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of weapon, possession of large capacity magazines and certain persons prohibited from possessing weapons.
After processing at the Ventnor Police station, he was turned over to the Pleasantville Police Department regarding the initial incident and later transported to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
