GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP Getting There, an art installation by Pittsburgh artists Andrew Ellis Johnson and Susanne Slavick, will be on display in the Stockton University Art Gallery Sept. 7 through Nov. 14.

Through paintings, video, prints and works on paper, Johnson and Slavick examine the contradictory fears and hypocrisies, ignored histories and punitive policies surrounding the challenge of migrants and refugees today. The works in the exhibit question and expose the consequences of our resentment or fear of the stranger. 'Getting There' is not just about the journey and reception of migrants; it is also about the movement of our own consciences.

A Watch Party will be held on Sept. 29 in the lower L-wing art gallery. Preview the exhibition from 11:30 a.m. to noon followed by a Virtual Conversation with the Artists, moderated by Associate Professor of Art Jacob Feige.

The Stockton University Art Gallery is free and open to the public daily: Monday-Saturday 12-7:30 p.m. and Sunday 12-4 p.m. Masks are required indoors. A virtual parking permit and directions are at stockton.edu/parking.
