Plastic bags, a constant nuisance are all to commonly found on the beaches.
The Borough of Longport green team, Sustainable Longport, is seeking volunteers to participate in International Coastal Cleanup Day, 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 18. The event is supported by the NJ Clean Community Council, and is one of several beach cleanups held throughout the year.
Volunteers will join thousands of volunteers worldwide who will be working to clean up rivers, lakes, streams, bays, and beaches. V
Volunteers will be supplied with the tools needed to conduct a successful cleanup, including a data card to record items collected on the beach.
