SOMERS POINT - Shore Medical Center and Shore Physicians Group announced today that they have raised their minimum wages to $15 an hour. There will also be salary adjustments made for those currently on or close to that threshold. These new wage rates will take place effective the pay period that begins Sunday, Sept. 19.

We are extremely proud of everyone's work throughout our organization, especially during the pandemic this past year-and-a-half, Vice President of Human Resources Alan Beatty said. Shore Medical Center's core values are summed up in these few words, Do the Right Thing Always.' Adjusting our minimum wage to $15 and the salaries of those staff members near that threshold is simply the right thing to do.

Over the past 10 years, Shore Physicians Group has evolved into a multi-specialty physician group caring for patients throughout South Jersey. We could not have achieved this growth without the hard work and dedication of all our staff, Shore Physicians Group Chief Administrative Officer Mark Stephens said. As the market for talented employees becomes more competitive, we needed to make adjustments. I am very proud of the career opportunities Shore Physicians Group provides to the community, and we will continue to do everything we can to remain an employer of choice.

Shore Medical Center and Shore Physicians Group employ more than 1,600 clinical and non-clinical residents of South Jersey. To learn more about career opportunities, visit https://shoremedicalcenter.org/healthcare_professionals
