A collection of vintage children's books is on display at the Ventnor Library during the month of April.
VENTNOR A new display at the Atlantic County Librray/Ventnor, 6500 Atlantic Ave. includes vintage books of collector and author Joy Jurnovoy, who moved back to her hometown of Ventnor after living in New York City and Palm Beach, Florida.
"Books and toys are delightful lifetime companions," said Jurnovoy, who authored, "America on Display: A guide to Unusual Museums and Collections in the United States and Canada.
When she returned to Ventnor, she discovered that her mother had kept most of her 1940s and 1950s-era children's books and toys, and she decided to create a new collection for a display at the Ventnor branch of the Atlantic County Library System.
The books include classics such as "Three Little Kittens," "Peter Rabbit," "Raggedy Ann," and "The House That Jack Built." Also on display are a collection of 45 RPM records and Jurnovoy's dollhouse.
The collection will be displayed through the month of April in the Ventnor Cultural Arts Center lobby display case.
"I am so pleased to be able to share them with the public, Jurnovoy said.
