VENTNOR After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ventnor Beautification Committee's annual night on the town is back in a big way this year.
According to organizer and community volunteer Shelly D'Orazio, who coordinates the Chef's Night Out dine-around, this year's event is slated for 4-8 p.m. Sunday, May 22, and includes a slew of new participants.
I just want to say, we're back bigger and better than ever' and tickets are selling fast, she said.
Only 300 tickets will be sold for the dine-around, which allows wristband holders to get tastings of each restaurant's culinary creations. The event also includes great local music and creative arts at certain venues and lots of socializing, and meeting old and new friends.
This year, there are already 21 restaurants signed up, including nearly a dozen that never participated before, and some that will come on board once the restaurants open for the summer season.
Our first year, we had eight restaurants. This year, we already have 21, with more that will likely come on board later this month, D'Orazio said.
New to the event are Water Dog, Knucky's, Aroma, North Beach Café, Pulia, PJ Buckets, Santucci's, Rainbow and Sasscer's bakery.
Tickets for the rain or shine event are $45 per person and can be purchased by calling Shelly D'Orazio at 267-980-7632.
One hundred percent of the proceeds of ticket sales benefit other community projects conducted by Ventnor Beautification, such as past projects that provided neighborhoods with welcome to Ventnor signs, decorative trash receptacles, banners, American flags, and flower plantings. The group's next big community project will be in support of the city's efforts to upgrade Ski Beach.
