A free, in-person resiliency workshop and dinner is being held for Atlantic County faith based leaders 5-7:30 p.m. Monday, May 9 at Faith Baptist Church, 829 Tilton Road in Pleasantville.

Join Together Atlantic County, a substance misuse prevention coalition, Atlantic Prevention Resources, Atlantic County Sheriff's Office, Atlantic County Sheriff's Foundation, Fellowship of Churches and Coalition for a Safe Community are sponsoring the free event.

The purpose of this presentation is to help faith leaders understand adverse childhood experiences, how trauma impacts the brain, and how to build resiliency in the community.

Before retiring recently, presenter Michael McKnight had more than 23 years of experience in schools. He was a special education teacher for 13 years working and learning with emotionally and behaviorally troubled adolescents, and has a passion for creating and supporting reclaiming environments for at-risk children as well as the adults who serve them.

The event is being held in-person only, for faith leaders. Faith leaders must pre-register at JTACNJ.org/communityresiliency.

Dinner and registration will begin at 5 p.m. with the presentation beginning promptly at 5:30 p.m.
