Ventnor notifies residents to avoid travel during high tides

  • Downbeach

VENTNOR - The city issued a traffic advisory this morning about traveling during the high tides caused by the storm, which will bring moderate flooding on city roadways.

At 7 a.m., Dorset Avenue bridge and Wellington Avenue were not passable due to flooding.

The Office of Emergency Management and Ventnor City Police Department advise residents to use Atlantic Avenue to travel through town, as most streets are flooded at this time due to the high tide.

If you need to drive, please drive safely and responsibly. Be courteous to property owners on surrounding streets that might be flooded as well. The wakes created by passing vehicles greatly enhances the water damage to residential properties and businesses.

Do not drive through flood waters or around barricades. They are there for your safety. Turn around don't drown.

Normal traffic will flow again once the weather has cleared and the tides recede. Please be patient and respect instructions from first responders.

Updates on weather and the bridge reopening for travel can be found at ventnorcity.org and on social media.
