EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP The Downbeach arts community was well represented at a Presidents Day weekend pop-up shop held at Reeds Organic Farm and Animal Sanctuary on Spruce Avenue.
A variety of local artists and food vendors were set up in a greenhouse and the farm stand to offer visitors protection from the chilly temperatures and wind.
Offerings included jewelry, local honey, woodworking and more.
A greeter instructed visitors that everything in the greenhouse, including decorative items on display that were made from natural materials, were available for purchase.
Ventnor's Spindrift Pottery, featuring Clint Hunter and his wife Susan Van Duyne Hunter, demonstrated how they make their creations using a potter's wheel. Visitors gathered round while Van Duyne Hunter demonstrated how to use various instruments to make the designs on a vase.
Artist Jon Baker, who is well known for his paintings of Lucy the Elephant and other iconic shore scenes, painted on an easel while spectators viewed a selection of his works.

The farm, which operates under A Meaningful Purpose, a non-profit organization formed by Steve & Cookies By The Bay restaurant owner Cookie Till, offers organic produce year-round at its farm stand. Board members do not accept a salary and all donations, including proceeds from the pop-up, are used to rescue animals, farm organically and help those with special needs.
The farm is located at 5076 Spruce Ave. in Egg Harbor Township.
