State law prohibits ACUA from accepting solid waste from rented vehicles

  • Atlantic County

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP - The Atlantic County Utilities Authority issued a press release reminding residents that rented vehicles are not permitted to haul solid waste to the transfer station and landfill located at 6700 Delilah Road.

For example, if a resident is cleaning out a home or disposing of large furniture, they may not use rented vehicles from local hardware stores, U-Haul, etc. to do so. They must transport it in a non-commercial vehicle.

Residents who do not have access to a truck or trailer are encouraged to contact a registered waste hauler for assistance. Rental vehicles will be turned away.

New Jersey law enforced by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection requires that ACUA turn away any homeowner trying to dispose of solid waste material using rented vehicles.

If you have any questions, please contact ACUA prior to disposing material at 609-272-6950 or visit www.acua.com/hauling
