SOMERS POINT - For consistently delivering outstanding patient centered service and embodying Shore Medical Center's mission, vision and values, Senior Applications Architect John Stafford of the IT Department has been selected as Employee of the Month for July.

Stafford began his career with Shore Medical Center in 2007 as a member of the IT Help Desk. In 2011, he joined the IT team that manages Cerner, Shore Medical Center's electronic medical record system. In his role as senior applications architect, Stafford serves as the interface resource for every interface in and out of the Cerner system. Additionally, he is the lead Cerner report writer and is the senior resource the team goes to for all Cerner user issues or requests. He also coaches new team members on the Cerner application, which is a broad and complex system with a 3- to 5-year learning curve.

Cerner Team ManagerJeremy Albergo said Safford is a valuable member of the Shore family.

When the organization needed COVID data quickly, it is John who gets to what specifically is needed and creates multiple reports for internal use and regulatory reporting. He is actively developing a custom Shore COVID database to streamline reporting, Albergo said.

Stafford's communication skills and helpful nature enable him to work well with every clinical and business department in the organization.

John gets very creative in helping departments accomplish their initiatives and ensure they get the information they need in the most useful format possible. He is a tremendous team member and brings the most positive attitude to work every day, Albergo said. He's also a great colleague and organizes weekly Friday team lunches to build comradery.

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Stafford now lives in Mays Landing with his wife, Christine, and their two children, Benjamin and Eliza - his top priorities. Stafford also enjoys reading, gaming, and TV and movies.
