ATLANTIC CITY - AtlantiCare held a ceremonial ribbon cutting Tuesday, Nov. 15 for its new Medical Arts Pavilion.

AtlantiCare, the area's regional healthcare system, constructed the  $38.3 million facility to enhance access to quality care for the Atlantic City community.

The project is one way AtlantiCare is addressing health disparities, social determinants of health and the national physician shortage. The facility will also be the new home base of AtlantiCare's Medical Education Program.

The day-long celebration included tours for AtlantiCare staff and local, state and federal leaders, a reception for dozens of artists from throughout New Jersey who contributed to the 220 original works installed throughout the building, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Services offered at the Medical Arts Pavilion include Maternal Fetal Medicine, Family Planning and Safe Beginnings program and Federally Qualified Health Center pediatrics, family medicine teaching, and dental clinics, and more. All demonstrate AtlantiCare's strong investment in establishing communitywide health equity and training a new generation of physicians.

The Medical Arts Pavilion will open to patients in December, pending final approvals from the New Jersey Department of Health.

AtlantiCare's Medical Arts Pavilion is located at 7 South Ohio Avenue in Atlantic City and stands on the same block where AtlantiCare opened as Atlantic City Hospital 124 years ago.

"This is a special day in the history of AtlantiCare where we recommit the purpose and the meaning of being all in in Atlantic City, AtlantiCare CEO Lori Herndon said. I am so proud we are opening the Medical Arts Pavilion right here where the hospital was first born. This is the place where care is going to make a difference and healing is going to make an impact every day."
