Longport water tower
LONGPORT - The borough is advising residents that the smily-faced water tower will be taken offline on or about Nov. 28 to make necessary interior repairs, including painting. Rehabilitation of the water tower is expected to be completed by April 30, 2023.
Residents may experience a loss of pressure in the water system due to the direct feeding of water with the tower unable to maintain consistent pressuer during repairs.
Residents may also experience water discoloration, which is temporary. Residents are advised to let the water run until it clears, and be cautious washing laundry, expecially whites or lighter color fabrics.
The Longport Public Works Department will be working to maintain constant water pressure throughout the water tower project.
