Players and Playwrights to present 8 one-act plays at Stockton AC

ATLANTIC CITY - Players and Playwrights by the Jersey Shore will present eight original one-act plays 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18 at the John F. Scarpa Academic Center at Stockton University's Atlantic City campus. Sponsored by the Stockton Center on Successful Aging, it will be the group's first public reading since the start of the pandemic.

Two of the group's playwrights, Tom Chin and James A. Landau, have each contributed two plays to the reading. Chin has crafted Hello Again and Facts of Life, and Landau has penned Iphigenia in Brooklyn and Fettered or Fetterless to Be.

Other plays included in the theatrical afternoon are Sondra Mandel's When Hope is Lost and Found, Jim O'Hara's Ask Juanita Bacana, (The Voodoo Fix), Phyliss Merion Shanken's The Gift That Keeps On Giving, and Nancy Swartz's The Purse.

The performers are Shirley Belitsky, Jerry Brucker, Joe Cialastri, Tom Chin, Shirley diBacco, Dayle Friedman, Sharon Haywood and Bernice Izes. Rachel Kaplan, Marlene May, Sondra Mandel, Stan Rothstein, Sheila Rosen, Phyliss Merion Shanken, Nancy Swartz, and Lynne Walters.

Admission is free but registration is required. Free parking is available directly in front of the Academic Center, 3711 Atlantic Ave.
