Atlantic County 4-H
MAYS LANDING - The 74th Atlantic County 4-H Fair kicks off Friday, Aug. 11 and runs through Saturday, Aug. 12 at the David C. Wood 4-H Center & Fairgrounds, 3210 Route 50 in Mays Landing.
The 4-H Fair celebrates the accomplishments of 4-H members who work throughout the year learning more about their 4-H project and themselves through their club and other 4-H educational experiences.
Visitors can see for themselves the original maker movement with hands-on, learn-by-doing that has been part of the 4-H slogan since 1902 and part of the 4-H creed: I believe in the training of my hands for the ability it will give me to be helpful, skillful, and useful.
This year's theme is Shake it up with 4-H through personal and life skills development.
The public is invited to enjoy the 4-H projects and demonstrations that highlight what members have been doing all year long. Projects in the Main Building include traditional 4-H projects such as baking, preserving, arts and crafts, and fine arts, but also robotics, STEM and model railroad, which have become and integral part of the maker movement.
