MAYS LANDING A Westhampton man was charged Wednesday, Aug. 30 with the first-degree murder of a Ventnor man housed in the Atlantic County Justice Facility, according to a release from Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
Aahznier Hayes, 22, of Westhampton, was charged in the beating death of Kenneth Raymond, 52, of Ventnor.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit responded shortly after midnight to the jail in Mays Landing for the report of an inmate that was beaten to death by another inmate.
The investigation led authorities to charge Hayes with Raymond's murder.
The Prosecutor's Office and the Justice Facility are continuing their investigation.
