Provided/Sherilyn Haddock receives the Supportive Housing Hero Award of the Year award from Supportive Housing Association Executive Director Diane Riley and SHA Trustee James Marhold.
MARGATE - Jewish Family Services of Atlantic and Cape May Counties has announced that the Supportive Housing Association Hero Award has been presented to JFS Case Manager Sherilyn Haddock, who works one-one-on-one with adults who have severe and persistent mental illness.
The award is presented to professionals who maintain an unwavering commitment to transform the lives of those with special needs and inspire the importance of supportive housing. In addition to this honor, earlier this year, Haddock was selected by her JFS peers for the agency's Outstanding Service Award.
Sherilyn consistently goes above and beyond in her JFS work with some of Atlantic County's most vulnerable residents. She proactively identifies potential barriers to client success before they arise and quickly develops an effective plan to address. Her dedication to client advocacy is unsurpassed and clearly has a positive impact on them, JFS CEO Andrea Steinberg said in a release.
Haddock works to ensure clients receive appropriate treatment and advocates with relentless determination to ensure they can live independently. An 18-month JFS staff member, she is committed to strengthening the life of each client she works with.
Earlier this year, Sherilyn developed the Cooking with Questions class, which helps clients learn safe and easy tips to enhance their healthy cooking skills.
In addition to her client caseload, she also serves as a member of the agency's Trauma-Informed Committee, co-leads a staff Peer Support Group, and works as a CSS program trainer.
