Award-winning choreographers bring their work with students to Stockton PAC stage

  • Atlantic County

Provided/Stockton's Spring Dance Concert will be held March 2-4 at the PAC.

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP Award-winning choreographers Tiffany Mills and Nathaniel Hunt bring their work with the talented artists of the Stockton community to the stage as part of the Spring Dance Concert 7:30 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, March 2-4 at the Performing Arts Center on the university's main campus.

In her quest to create collectively, Mills worked intimately with Stockton Dance Company members to build choreography full of radical juxtaposition and satisfying nuance. Hunt brings his vast experience as a performer for Ailey II, Ballet Hispanico and the Metropolitan Opera to his newest dance work for the company. These nationally recognized guests artists will join resident choreographers Caitlin Quinn Pittenger and Beau Hancock.

One of the pieces for the concert is titled, A Change of This Kind, by dance major Abigail Bell. Her piece premiered at the 2022 Fall Choreography Project, and she is excited for a second showing at the Spring Dance Concert.

I was so honored when I found out my piece was going to be presented, the senior from Jackson said. It provides me with another opportunity to share my work with new audience members, as well as previous ones. I am grateful to be able to continue working with my beautiful cast, and I look forward to seeing how my work can evolve and grow for this next performance.

Stockton Dance alumna and choreographer Alisa Iacovelli will also have a piece in the concert.

It has been an honor being invited back as a choreographer for the program's spring concert.  During my time at Stockton, it was one of my goals to one day be able to give back to the dance program, said Iacovelli, a 2018 graduate and member of Alchemy Dance Company and Artist House. Being given the opportunity to share my artistry with Stockton's developing artists allowed me to do just that.
